Santa Clara Pueblo Pottery

Stella Chavarria is the daughter of famed Santa Clara potter Teresita Naranjo who passed away in early 2000. Stella's pottery is very much influenced by that of her mother with the exception that Stella, until recently, made only blackware and works on a somewhat smaller scale than did Teresita. One could say that Stella makes quintessential Santa Clara blackware and receive little or no argument. Stella has two daughters whom she influenced and share her style: Denise Chavarria and Sunday Chavarria.
